National Gallery in London hosts a new exhibition of Siena's sacred art of 14th century
London (UK), Mar 5 (EFE).- The golden glow of the splendorous Sienese sacred art of the first half of the fourteenth century dazzles from Wednesday the National Gallery in London, which exhibits more than a hundred works by four key artists of a movement that transcended the borders of the Italian city. In 'Siena: the rise of painting, 1300-1350', the British gallery brings together works by Duccio, Simone Martini, and the brothers Pietro and Ambroggio Lorenzetti, precursors of an innovative painting at a time when the heart of the Church left Italy to move to the French city of Avignon (south). National Gallery in London brings together paintings by the great Italian artists of the 14th century
London (United Kingdom), Mar 3 (EFE/EPA) - The National Gallery in London is hosting the exhibition “Siena: The Rise of Painting 1300-1350”, which brings together for the first time paintings by some of the greatest Italian artists of the fourteenth century after having been scattered around the world for centuries.
