US, May 25 (EFE).- Five years after the murder of George Floyd, people gathered this May 25, 2025 around the Plaza that bears his name in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to install murals and participate in a memorial vigil at the site where he was killed by ex-cop Derek Chauvin. The case, which shocked the world after the release of a video of Chauvin holding his knee to Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes, sparked a wave of protests against police violence and systemic racism in the United States.
