1. Ryan Coogler talking to reporter
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Ryan Coogler, director:
"What I will say is that this film, I felt the most exposed. You know? Because when you're working with your adaptive IP, a lot of times you can kind of hide behind it. You know I mean? And you know, maybe criticisms or when it doesn't connect, you know maybe it was the IP, maybe it wasn't me. You know who I mean. But with this, I did feel very out in front of you, you know, in a different way. But it was a blessing, man, that it worked out. It doesn't always work out like that. And we were fortunate in this case."
3. Chase Infiniti talking to reporter
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Chase Infiniti, actor:
"Getting to watch the entire picture and kind of watch her entire journey, I didn't understand the level of strength that she had, even while I was doing it. Like I knew that obviously she's the daughter of Profittia Beverly Hills, she can do anything. But I think just seeing that constant never giving up in the film, that inspired me leaving it. I was like, whoa. How was a 16-year-old able to do that?"
5. CU Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas talking to reporter
6. SOUNDBITE (English) Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, actor:
"No, I think it was very early on that I felt connected to it and I felt like this is true and it resonates and it sort of just triggers stuff you know that you don't necessarily know what is but it's definitely very emotional reaction to the material both for my character but also for the other characters it's a lot of existentialism and a lot this idea of being an artist and being a parent, all of that stuff, you know. I'm also a parent so it's something I think a lot about, how to be both if it's possible, yeah."

David Alan Grier reflected on how comedy has changed over time on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards. (Jan. 4)

Santa Monica, Calif. - 4 January 2026
1. SOUNDBITE (English) David Alan Grier, actor/comedian:
"I think comedy in particular reflects the world, our society. So the world has changed, this country has changed. There will always be comedy. It's not always going to be the same. I mean, when I was a kid, I grew up watching Georgie Jessel on 'The Mike Douglas Show.' So it was foreign. I mean, you know, that's why comedy is very generational. You have to find that person that is talking about you, your world, then you relate. But, you know, as little kids we've all had that moment where you're seeing these old people talk and everyone's laughing and you're like, 'what's going on? I don't... What's funny?' Yeah, what is funny? And then you find that first. My person was Richard Pryor, man. I remember the first time on Ed Sullivan I was like, 'okay, now I'm locked in.'"

"There's some roles I'd like to play, you know, I'd like to be the bad guy more often, because they're delicious. I don't know, I'm sort of the Amenos Gris on every set. I'm older than the Teamsters now, so I feel like I have more to say with my work than I did when I was a youngster. I was rather shallow, callow, fellow at a point."
