Samangan (Afghanistan), Nov 3 (EFE/EPA).- The de facto Taliban government has raised the death toll to more than 20 and the number of injured to 530 from the strong 6.3-magnitude earthquake that struck northern Afghanistan early Monday morning, official sources reported. “According to the information received so far, 534 people have been injured and more than 20 have lost their lives as a result of last night's earthquake in the provinces of Balkh and Samangan,” said Sharafat Zaman, spokesman for the Taliban regime's Ministry of Public Health, in a statement issued on Monday. “It was one o'clock in the morning, and there was a strong earthquake. When I came out, the houses were destroyed and the air was very polluted. We were busy rescuing the injured. We pulled the bodies of two people from the rubble, and their funerals will be held today at two o'clock. There has been a lot of damage, many casualties, and more than 25 people have been injured here, the exact number of whom is still unknown."

“It was around 1 am. I was sleeping in this shop, my brother suddenly woke me up. I saw that everything was destroyed, people had suffered a lot of financial losses.
