ITAR-TASS Photo Agency’s resource (www.tassphoto.com) is based on Orphea Studio technology created by Algoba Systems for management of large-volume digital archives. Similar facilities are used by such known picture agencies as Abaca Press, AKG Images, Gamma, Sipa Press, Splash News and many others.

The data-base management is based on the Oracle Database 10g technology. The server equipment was provided by Aquarius Co.

The solution underlying the site www.tassphoto.com allows to manage a data volume of up to one million digital images. At present the base contains over 300,000 digital image units being replenished by approximately 500 images per day.

The following is required to begin working with the site:
• to complete the registration form;
• on receiving your registration form, an employee of ITAR-TASS Photo Agency will get in touch with you to check up some technical points. Please note that access to the system is granted provided your activities are intended to acquisition of rights to use images professionally.

After filling in your registration form you are given automatic access to the system. Our manager is supposed to contact you within 24 hours following your registration to clear up some cooperation details. If you have not received any response to your request, please register once again as the request may have been erroneously declined at the primary processing stage.
